²⁴ Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

²¹ To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

¹ Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. ² I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings, just as I passed them on to you.

³⁸ and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

²⁶ But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

²⁵ Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
